Emirates to fly to Taipei

[Routes News]

Emirates Airlines will launch passenger flights between Dubai and Taipei in February.

Adding its 16th  destination in the Far East, Emirates will fly into Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) from February 10, 2014.

The new Dubai-Taipei service will fly six times a week by B777-300ER.

Emirates has operated cargo flights on the route since 2003, said Barry Brown, the airline’s SVP commercial operations east.

“Given its status as a global trading hub and the demand, it is a natural progression for Emirates to launch passenger services to Taipei,” he said.

“We are confident that this new route will open up new trade opportunities across the Emirates network as well as support business and tourism travel to Taipei.”

Emirates has launched services this year to Warsaw, Algiers and Tokyo’s Haneda airport.

New destinations now due to launch are Stockholm, Clark International Airport in the Philippines, Conarky,Sialkot and Kiev.

Milan-New York is also set to launch in October.
